Trusting God in all this is what will carry us through those moments when others question us. And also knowing there are other clergy women out there who share the same moments helps tremendously...we are not alone! this blog is so good!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-385876778990619768.post-23094096702348343892010-06-23T16:45:11.396-04:002010-06-23T16:45:11.396-04:00Judy wrote...
"I read today's testimony ...Judy wrote...<br /><br />"I read today's testimony from Pastor Ludwig. Her boldness and humility are so wonderfully blended. I recall being asked to teach the book of Leviticus to our Sunday School teachers many many moons ago. It was perhaps the most fulfilling experience I've had. Fulfilling in the sense that I was keenly aware that I was being fully filled by God's Spirit to study and interpret J. Vernon McGee's commentary. One of our more senior deacons (a man I have great respect for) had said earlier in a church meeting that he did not believe women should preach. He was speaking of the pastor's intent to ordain and seat a female minister in the church. This deacon quoted the scripture that women should be silent, they should not teach. I took that to heart and struggled with it, though he was not speaking of me or directly to me. After a while, I heard the Spirit say, "Let me handle that. You do what I've told you to do." I felt such peace and conviction. As Pastor Ludwig said, I had to affirm myself. Whenever I would get skittish about speaking or teaching, I'd say, Thanks God. You said you would handle that. It's funny how Jesus came to liberate us all and yet we put ourselves and others back in the box."Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
